RESERVE TEAM
Adam Hutchinson- Treating a full sized pitch like a 5-a-side one is what central midfielder Adam does, and he does it well. Deft touches and moves allow him to glide past the opposition, and then using the space he's created, he picks out a pass that always reaches its target.
Chris Lodge- New recruit Chris is equally adept playing on either side of the pitch, breaking down defences and starting attacks from full-back.
Garry Chadwick- Midfield dynamo Gaz powers his way around the pitch, and whether he's putting in vital challenges, going past defenders, or playing perfect passes, you know that he's putting in 100% effort.
Jeffrey Osbourne- Veteran goalkeeper Jeff is also able to play outfield, and did so several times in the 2012/2013 season, primarily in defense. Jeff also plays for Rufforth's over-35s team, in addition to his role in the Reserve side.
Kieran Hepworth- A product of Rufforth's youth setup, the tall, tricky winger often leaves defenders bamboozled as he races past them before delivering great crosses. Playing mostly on the left wing this allows him to cut inside onto his right foot, which he did with great success in the 2012/2013 season.
Lee Addison- Winger Lee can play on both sides of the pitch, swinging in crosses and firing shots off from all over the pitch.
Lee Jefferson- Pacey right back Lee spends his time on the pitch racing up and down the flanks endlessly, delivering beautiful crosses into the box and preventing the opposition from doing the same. Doing this he racked up a bunch of assists and a couple of goals in the 2012/2013 season.
Liam Morrison- Veteran Scottish defender Liam spent the 2012/2013 season playing for both the first and reserve teams, and played great for both sides. Extremely vocal, his leadership is missed if he doesn't play!
Neil Shaw- Neil is a versatile player who is just as at home in the heart of Rufforth's defense as he is playing in front of it in midfield. Combining excellent passing, tackling, and heading, he not only prevents the opposition from scoring, he scores and assists plenty too.
Nick Hewson- Winger Nick showed in pre-season for the 2013-14 season that he would be a great asset to Rufforth's play, as his great pace is combined with excellent accuracy and shot power.
Pat Wahl- At 6'5", you can't miss South African Pat on the pitch, and even if you somehow lost track of him, just look for the action, as it's a given that he'll be part of it. A true box-to-box midfielder, he links solid defensive play with quick and fluid attacking play, which led to him getting several assists.
Paul Dennis-Jones- It's all about defence for veteran defender Paul, who shows everything you'd want from a centre back in his performances. A strong vocal presence on the pitch, he uses his size and skill to bully opposition into making mistakes which he quickly capitalises on.
Simon Teale- Simon's able to play all across Rufforth's defence, and him signing for Rufforth for the 2013/14 season is a huge gain for the side, as he will no doubt add some solidity to Rufforth's backline, and also add a whole load of leadership qualities.
Steve Ridley- Captain Steve Ridley is a centre back with an attacking edge, able to strike the ball from distance, and also uses long throws to his side's advantage. Incredibly accurate at passing over long distances, he contributed to many goals last season for Rufforth.
Tom Bateson- A product of Rufforth's junior setup, Tom made the transition to the senior side in 2012. Playing as a forward he scored 13 league goals for the reserve team in his first season, making him the runner-up for the Reserve D Golden Boot.
Tom Bays- Defender/Midfielder Tom has a knack for scoring when he's played in midfield, which has led to him being played progressively further forward each match! An excellent defender, he combines strength with a fair amount of pace, to make himself an attacker's worst nightmare.
